English Competition by Adelia

On Friday, June 27^th 2014, Sumbawagen team of Sumbawa University of Technology joint the english competition which located lecturer mess of women Sumbawa University of Technology. And the jury was Miss Sausan. This competition was examined the three main skills. Thus are speaking skill, listening skill, and writting skill.

The competition was commenced  at 8.30 o’clock. I was so nervous, my  hands were cold , I was scared if I couldn’t give maximal persentation. This competition was held one day after my final exam, so didn’t have maximal preparetion because I focussed on my exam  and I have big responsibility to defend my scholarship by  getting  good scores.

The first persentation was delivered by single perform from Fahmi. He presented Kimi no Todoke movie and I think he was succesfull in his persentation. The moral value I got from the persentation was we must not give up in struggling our love, even though we sometimes have to feel disapointment. It’s time for us, me and Fajri. We choosed the best movie accroding to us, “3 idiot”. The story tells about three friends, Ranchoo, Farhan, and Raju. They went to  Imperial College of Engineering, one of the best college in India. They were called as “idiot” by their rector, Virus. Because they had freak characters and always opposed him. Unfortunately,  my persentation was not as good as the movie. All that I had learned was gone because I was nervous. I just could make up my words because i partly forgot. 

To be honest, from the my deepest heart I wanted to present a good persentation, but its imposible. Because my negligence made everything messed up.  Fortunately, I could count on my partner’s Fajri. When question and answer session, Alhamdulillah I could answer some question, although I was still stammering. If only the  time can be repeated, I would present well.

Due to the persentation was not good, I tried to make up my weakness by giving attention carefull to my friends’ persentation. So I could ask some question. In the persentation yesterday, as the matter of fact there were many  friends like cartoon movie. Such us, Cindy and Nugrah with “One Piece”, Yuli and Azhar with “Wreck It Ralph”, Cendra and Un with “Up”, Abdi and Gita with “Sword Art Online”. So far, I thought cartoons movie just depended on powerful imagination without delivering good value. I was wrong, cartoons movies in my mind which is made for kids, in fact  has some messages like other movie. 

From all of the persentations I was interest with Abdhi’s. He was was a single fighter because gita was absent. Wooww, enormous struggle Abdhi. Speaking skill competition was closed by Indah and Arif performance with “Hello Ghost” movie. By the way, one other group I forgot to tell, Asma and Rian. They were the only group who presented the movie from Indonesian production, that was  “5 cm”. Because it was Friday, the competition was stopped for a moment thus we could take  Jumat prayer and have lunch.

The competition continued at 13.30 o’clock. Thats time for listening skill. This round was divided into two session. The first session was  for each one person and the last sesion was  for all, #SCTV J. The sound from the speaker like rumble in noon made my heart beated quickly, I was scared, and my life turned to be dark. In the first session, I got number twelve the tittle was  “Good bye and hello”. I was clearly heard just some word, such as “Captain Charles, lending, tomorrow, and the moment”.. what was that? Just four words!  Miss Sausan gave me three question and  I tried to answer carefully whilst  arranging a sentence in my mind. I wish  in the second session, I had much  correct answers although I was not sure for that.

The competition was not over, so the struggles still continued, writting skill. We were istructed to write about the activity in competition day and then we have to post it on sumbawagen blog. I have tried doing the best for my task. I want to remove the disappointment in Miss Sausan heart, because of my poor speaking skill and listening skill. Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.. J
